I used to spend a fortune on my college textbooks when I first started out going to school. I did try to get the used ones at the school bookstore, but hee hee financial aide people always got to go first, and well.. they were all about trying to spend less of their money on the books so they could have more left over for other things! I did start buying my books from Amazon & Half which helped alot, but still it wasn't too fun. When I went to Appalachian State University we RENTED our books through the school. I think for about 30 bucks a semester you got every required book you needed for all of your classes! Novel idea right? why not just rent them and save money and all that good stuff huh? When I started back at community college in the fall of 2006, that's exactly what I started looking into was renting my books! Sometimes I couldn't find what I needed, and renting books wasn't as popular then as it is now! It was hard to find EVERY book, and there weren't many places … [Read more...]

Personal Story about breast cancer
I decided to write a post today on behalf of EdenFantasys in honor of their EdenFantasys supports Breast Cancer Awareness campaign. I decided to write about something that I have never wrote about, and that is, that I had someone very dear to me, who found a lump in her breast when she was pregnant. Who was this person? It was my mom, when she was pregnant with me! In all honesty this story chills me to my very core because of the way that it was approached back then, It was in the early 80’s and apparently.. they weren’t very medically advanced back then when it came to breast cancer! My mom had told me this story before, mostly that she had a lump when she was pregnant with me, and that’s about all I knew. I got her to tell me the story in full today, and this is what she wrote, in her own words. When I was 22 years old and about 12 weeks pregnant with my first and only baby my ob/gyn found a large lump in my right breast. Due to being pregnant they decided not to do a … [Read more...]
about to loose it..
Maybe someday people will realize that i'm seriously SICK of being SICK and TIRED all the damn time! seriously. I am loosing my freaking mind, and noone seems to give a care in the world. Half the time I don't think anyone listens to a word I say. The sleep (lack there of, interruptions of etc) are starting to take their toll on me in a big way. I am loosing interest in EVERYTHING ... site, reviews, online period, the house work,etc..Everything honestly just gets on my nerves. The only things I manage to get done are my paid posts and trying to keep up with dishes and clothes. Other than that, it barely crosses my radar. Or let's rephrase that..by the time i get 5 seconds to do it i'm already wore down. Sam is on my nerves. David isn't on my nerves YET but that's only because we have been fighting like cats and dogs on several occassions lately over stupid stuff and I think i've finally got it all out. All sam seems to do is roam the house bouncing around getting into crap … [Read more...]
crockpot nommy goodness
Today is dreary and VERY windy out :( meh. I know I was all for fall weather but I do like sunshine as well! Cool weather? i'm ok with. Rain & crap? no thanks! Last night I went to bed around 7 p.m! David & I watched t.v. for quite a while then we went to sleep around 9. I slept semi good, but let me say I am fighting a cold and getting up at 445 still doesn't help that sittuation. Come November when the time changes i'm going to have david start parking at this other guys house that lives local, and that way I won't be getting up anymore. It will be colder, and darker.. and yeah.. I won't be "hanging" with him anymore lol. I honestly don't really need to deal with that! Currently I am sitting here on the couch with Sam, watching days of our lives and trying to motivate my poor body to please feel better, so I can perhaps write some reviews or.. something! I am also STARVING and all I can smell is my chicken bbq that is making in the crockpot! it's making me nuts! anyone … [Read more...]
Music, well it’s not really for me to play!
I have always thought it would be cool to be able to play some sort of instrument! I can play Mary had a little lamb on the keyboard/piano and part of a song called The Tennessee Waltz,as well. On a recorder or flute I can play Hot Cross Buns..But other than that, that's all I can do. I even took Piano lessons at 2 different times in my life. When We did the recorder when I was at appalachian, we did it in a music class for elementary teachers. I didn't know how to read notes, and apparently everyone else did, and I couldn't grasp the concept for nothing, so I faked it the entire semester. I don't know how in the world my teacher didn't figure out that I really couldn't do it, and I was too embarrassed to ask for help! Sometimes a friend of mine named Katie would help me out, but I wasn't close friends with her so I didn't want to feel like I was bugging her! I have always wondered if drums would be hard? they look so cool! steel drums at drumsofsteel.com would be a good place to … [Read more...]
