Spring is around the corner, and I for one could not be more excited! Granted it isn't my favorite season- but I don't mind it either-longer days, warmer weather and all of that good thing- I think if it weren't for the pollen it would be tied with fall for my favorite season! Another one of my favorite things about spring is when you start getting all those fresh fruits and veggies, and I personally like to eat a little more "light" come this time of year, even though for some reason I tend to be a bit more hungry when the season first starts! I like sandwiches and different sorts of salads (seriously I could make a whole week menu of salads including chicken, regular, egg, potato and pasta!) I also tend to drink a lot more fluids including sweet tea and anything fruity! Keeping all this in mind, I was really excited when I got the chance to review another item from the awesome folks at Ninja- the Nutri Ninja Auto-iQ pro compact system! I had always wanted one, even though I … [Read more...]
Review: Bar 41 Wine Cocktails #ad #sponsored #review #bar41
This is a review of alcoholic beverages, and you must be of legal age in your country to be able to consume alcoholic beverages! I am pretty sure if you have read the blog for any length of time you already know my love for wine and whatnot, so there is no reason for me to give you a long introduction! I recently got the chance to review a different sort of wine from Bar 41. These are not typical wines because they are around 18% by volume and they are flavored like your favorite cocktails such as Cosmopolitan, Moscow Mule, Margarita, and Mojito (with a few other varieties that they are working on such as Bloody Mary, Dirty Martini , and Mai Tai - which I want to try!) They are essentially a wine cocktail! The story behind Bar 41 is that those bars and restaurants with what is known in California as a type 41 license for beer and wine couldn't offer cocktails or they had to make them with low volume sake or sochu/soju which makes for a sub standard cocktail drink. With the … [Read more...]
Review: The Spice Lab #ad #sponsored #review #thespicelab
We all know my love for all things salty- I am also fascinated by different types of spices and the like. It goes with this new found "love" I have for cooking. I mean I might not be able to figure out what we are going to have for dinner most days (oh, we are so going to a menu system lol) and I don't like doing a whole lot of in depth cooking, but I do like to try to make new things - just recently I made biscuit bread for the first time ever! One thing with cooking, you have to have not only variety in what you eat or you will get bored, but you also need different spices and whatnot to mix it up. Now, around my house and my parents we generally use sea salt because it packs more of a punch and you don't have to use as much- and it is better for you than regular salt because it is a bit more healthy for you than regular salt and with David having high blood pressure and me eating salty stuff so much it is just a better for us in the long run! Going along with my love for … [Read more...]
[Mini Review]Sparkling Ice Feature with Recipes #ad #sponsored #sparklingice
Getting Healthier- Starting with cutting out SODA! One of the goals that David and I have had for quite some time is to cut out the drinking of soda/not drink as much soda. I actually went an entire summer not that long ago and didn't have any AT ALL and lost about 10lbs. I generally do really well with NOT drinking it because I don't really buy any that I like- I just get whatever David wants and then I know I won't drink it! Oh and while we are on it I do NOT do diet soda - i think it is absolutely horrid! Lately, I have not been doing so well on that front though! Really though the most soda I drink tends to be when we go out to eat somewhere or when I am at my mom and dads for the most part. I know that David does a lot worse on this level than I do -and he even gets really bad kidney infections and stuff because of drinking certain sodas more than he should. Say Hello To Sparkling Ice! Available in Tea, Water & Lemonade! I personally try to drink green tea for my main … [Read more...]

Review: NY Style Pita Chips #ad #sponsored #review
I know it seems that everyone always does the whole "new year, new me" thing a the beginning of the year and most people come up with goals to be more healthy and work out and eat better and all of that kind of thing. I have to admit to being on that bandwagon a bit myself so when people knock others who have those sorts of attitudes and goals, i'm like well to each their own- which has became my attitude for a lot of things because what works for one person doesn't work for someone else in lots of situations!! David and I have had the goal to eat better /workout/loose weight for quite some time but it is very slow going for us... A lot of times I don't think it is so much of what we eat but the quanity of it /the not working out part! However, if you have noticed I have done little things to improve upon what we are eating and or what I am cooking with like the algae oil I reviewed and the low sodium and unsalted for broths- and even using my instant pot for most … [Read more...]
