Hey Everyone Well, I am super excited because we got some SUPER awesome news late last night when I was working on some blog posts- I know I am being vague, but I will try to cover it later on when I get a few things done on here, and in the house too- I have to send David out to get some seasoning for the pot roast I am going to make for dinner here in a little bit as well! I am hoping that this spurt of good news will be the end of our little run of bad luck My mom and Dad were going to go out of town this weekend, but because they got exposed to COVID they won't be getting to go - We aren't exposed because David had been out of work for a week, and even when we saw my mom and dad they hadn't been exposed at that point so we have kind of gotten lucky. Long story short, the quarry pretty much knew that one of the guys out theres wife was testing for COVID and they told him to come to work -and an hour later she got the positive results and they sent him home- after exposing … [Read more...]

I miss BOONE
You Know what I am missing more than ever? B O O N E Appalachian State The good ole days ,if you will! I think it is honestly this time of the year - I mean this would have been like the back to school sort of time- oh and the fall .. and we all know - obviously- how I feel about fall (if you don't know- well now, come on- my site has AUTUMN in its name you know? ) I don't know if anyone knows exactly WHY I came back home from Appalachian and never finished my teaching degree so let me give you a condensed version of what happened, just because I can! My mom has had a lot of problems with her feet over the years- due to always being ON HER FEET as being a hair stylist and all that sort of thing ... she has had a few surgeries and such, and she has custom orthotics and everything. She calls them her jellies and if you don't know what they are and you see them laying about and don't know what they are they seem really out of place ha ha.. and she always seems to have … [Read more...]
Things that mean something to you
A Few posts ago I am pretty sure that I mentioned that David's grandpa died a couple weeks back- he had been in the nursing home a pretty good while- I think that basically what happened was that he had broken something when he fell a few years ago and they put him in the nursing home and he never wanted to actually do the therapy and get better- which I think is totally crazy but these things happen- I know that if that had been my grandpa my mom and my grandma and everyone would have made sure that he would have done what he needed to do to make it better and not be in there like that - but some folks don't have that sort of support and motivation and everything! At one point David actually had his grandpas old truck. This was in around 2009 and we were staying with my mom and dad. I can't exactly remember the specifics (which is crazy - because people swear I remember stuff from the womb ha ha!) I don't think there were any REAL issues at the time , but for some reason I know he … [Read more...]
This year, well it just hasn’t been a friendly one has it?
With COVID this year has been super TRASH for SO Many people- including us- David's grandpa actually DIED from COVID a few weeks back and it seems to be working its way through the people who are working at the quarry as well - They have 2 or 3 people out with it as of today! It has amazed me though, that at least this has happened in a time of really good technology on so many levels. I mean can you even imagine if this had happened as far back as like the 90's (or earlier- I am just going with when I was a child!) I mean we didn't have phones ,internet (I think I can remember a very basic internet around 1994 because I was in 4th grade and we could email with my teachers daughter-I was one of the ones that actually got to do that- oh and accelerated reader- we dialed that up and I was super active with that) The first cell phones that I think we even had were when I was in high school, I know that much! I know you all might know I am a huge little house fan- heck the thing … [Read more...]
Oh It is super crazy here!
Hey Everyone Things here have been SUPER SUPER - SUPER crazy the last little bit. I mean honestly,it has been THAT KIND OF YEAR- Oh, OK .. almost 2 years now if we want to get technical... I mean big things have been happening - and they just don't seem to STOP. Thankfully, we have all came out on the other side fine you know? The last little bit I haven't seemed to feel all that great more than ever before- It seems like it is ALWAYS something- from girly issues to just not getting the proper amount of sleep (nothing new there ha ha- I just never can seem to narrow the right kind of sleep plan down no matter what I try- but I thrive on trying, and in some ways things have gotten better! My nighttime sleep isn't the problem at all- it is that time between David leaving and me actually getting up- which is THE WORST because it is so dark, and I don't have THAT MUCH TO DO- most of the time. I am hoping things may change when the time changes! Also, With this time of the year I … [Read more...]
Don’t go through debt alone
The topic of debt is one of those taboo topics that none of us really like to talk about. Having any form of debt makes us feel as though we are failing at staying on top of our own finances. People like to believe that if they don’t talk about their debts, they will disappear over time. Unfortunately, this is far from the truth. The less we talk about debts, the more issues can arise as a result of living in dental. Debt is any money that is spent that did not belong to the spender to begin with. They can come from school fees, vet and medical bills, car payments and credit card loans. When ignored, these debts can mount and cause a whole load of extra worry, in addition to the stress and anxiety. Staying quiet about debt and money issues will not solve them. Here are some of the things you can do instead of being overwhelmed by debts. Speak to Creditors Communication with those whom the money is owed should always be the first port of call as much as acknowledging … [Read more...]
