Review: Swanson Broths: Unsalted & Bottled #review #ad #sponsored #swansonbroths
Relevant History, As Always! I know when you think of me you likely don't think of wow that Nichole, what an awesome cook she is, because this blog isn't a cooking blog or anything like that.. I know that at one point in life I knew so little about making anything that wasn't in the microwave that I swore I could burn water- this was a comment to my ex boyfriend and my still best friend Jason who is in fact now a chef, so it is even more funny when you think about it. Of course, back then I had no clue that he would end up being a chef. I can remember hanging out with him between classes at his house and he would be making hot pockets so...:) I have evolved over the years thankfully- I just kind of threw myself into things and tried to teach myself- and my mom actually wrote several things down in a book for me! I need to actually find that book because I know there are a few things in there that I would love to make that I haven't just yet. She also had cleaning information and … [Read more...]
A little taste of snow
Yesterday when I woke up about 4:30 a/m it was full fledged girl time from you know where. I got David to get me an advil when he got up about 6 or so and by 7 or so was feeling a bit better.. finally went to sleep sometime after 730. Anyways when I got up around 10 I thought I saw little spits of snow but I was like well that isn't supposed to be until Friday right? and it got heavier and heavier - it never stuck but I was like well that is crazy. My mom had some at her house and David had some out to the quarry. I pretty well knew that whatever day my period came would be a bust because well, that is the way it generally goes for me. I was lucky that most of the pain was so early in the morning and I got to sleep it off at a normal time but I was totally drained of course. I did a few random things that needed done but I ended up taking a late short nap and when I got up it was really dark outside (i'm talking it was 3:30 or so and pitch black out) I went ahead and took marley … [Read more...]
I can still see the light
Hey Everyone Well wouldn't you just know about the time I start feeling a little burst of energy my female time has decided to come along and thwart it... OY I am telling you it never fails lol. And since when does my period come on time? Apparently though since I can track it with my bellabeat leaf, it is pretty spot on within a couple of days. I am really hoping that this go around isn't too bad. My last one was not too bad so I usually don't luck out twice in a row like that. I am like dude I got too much to do to be bothered with seriously having to pop advil and cuddle with a heat pad for an entire day like usual! I know that I am loving the fact that it is 530 p.m and there is still daylight outside though! I love when that starts happening. You don't know how crappy it is when the fall and winter are here and when David goes to work in the morning it is dark and by the time he gets home in the evening it is dark. Then it is cold and you just don't really feel like even … [Read more...]
Review: Inspired By Happiness Gluten Free Cakes #review #sponsored #ad @ibhappiness
I might not be big on sweets but I do have a soft spot for cookies and cakes every now and then! I actually hardly ever make deserts or anything because David will say Oh I don't want it and all of that kind of thing.. the funny thing is my dad does the same thing with my mom. The even funnier thing? When we are over there and my mom makes something sweet David and my Dad are the ones that eat the most of it! We are always picking on them about it. When I had the chance to get some cake to review though, From Inspired By Happiness,I sure didn't turn it down! Now as with most things I am "picky" of course but I cannot stand store bought cakes for the most part because they are so sicky sweet if you know what I mean! Don't bring back the haunting memory of my cake someone got me for my high school graduation *shudder*...I don't even remember agreeing to a store bought cake! I have opted out of a bought cake for my birthday and pretty well any sort of event since I was in … [Read more...]
35 degrees and Monday what fun.
Hey Everyone Well here we are at MONDAY again. Oh and a very COLD monday for us folk here in the south with the high temp of 35 degrees! I am making my famous chicken and wild rice soup tonight though- it is an instant pot recipe that I kinda adapted just like I adapt pretty much any recipe- like I hardly ever use carrots because I don't hardly ever have them , i use thigh meat and ... heres the big one- for some reason it says to discard the seasoning packet which I thought WHY? won't that make it plain? Well I ended up trying it both ways- and believe me with the seasoning is TONS better. I love how it doesn't hardly take 15 minutes and that is adding a bit of time to fry up my meat and bring it to pressure! The weekend was a BLUR - I know David and I ran up to the thrift shop Saturday morning and he got 2 shirts and I got 2 purses. Then he went off to a vape shop in g-town and I came home and slept a little bit. Then we ended up going over to my moms because she found us a … [Read more...]
