I might not be big on sweets but I do have a soft spot for cookies and cakes every now and then! I actually hardly ever make deserts or anything because David will say Oh I don't want it and all of that kind of thing.. the funny thing is my dad does the same thing with my mom. The even funnier thing? When we are over there and my mom makes something sweet David and my Dad are the ones that eat the most of it! We are always picking on them about it. When I had the chance to get some cake to review though, From Inspired By Happiness,I sure didn't turn it down! Now as with most things I am "picky" of course but I cannot stand store bought cakes for the most part because they are so sicky sweet if you know what I mean! Don't bring back the haunting memory of my cake someone got me for my high school graduation *shudder*...I don't even remember agreeing to a store bought cake! I have opted out of a bought cake for my birthday and pretty well any sort of event since I was in … [Read more...]
Review: Amira’s Love Oracle Cards #review #sponsored #amiracelon #loveoraclecards
When I was a young gal, even though my family (parents especially) were really religious and I wasn't allowed to do a lot of the things that most kids got do (ie celebrate holidays like Christmas and Halloween) they had no problem with my reading ghost stories, legends, books about astrology, numerology, etc. They also didn't care when I would get a Magazine that would have those little cards you could tear out that were like tarot cards and love cards and I know one time I even had some that were rune stones. I always loved them and had tons of fun with them not only just on my own but with my other friends. I still have the majority of the cards , they are in a cloth drawstring bag and I run into them from time to time. I don't have the "instructions" anymore - they have long since been thrown away I am sure- I am sure I never tore them out of the magazines (not that I am sure why I wouldn't have- would have been easy to put them in the bag with the cards) and of course over time I … [Read more...]
Review: Coloring Books for Grown Ups: Keep Calm & Color On #putmeinthestory
Sometimes I have to admit that I need something to do other than sitting on the computer stalking social media/email and blogging and all of that sort of thing. .. sure that would leave things to do around the house or go out and about with my mom or something of the sorts, which is totally fine! However sometimes you just want to do something that relaxes you and something that is a little bit "different". Something that I have always liked to do is color- which is kind of funny when you think about how much I hated coloring as a child. I think that had to do with this fact that for church we had these little books called bible lessons and we had to color one of them like every month or every 2 weeks or something and they were just -not fun when you are forced to do something I suppose! When I started noticing the recent trend of Adult Coloring books (which to me makes them sound a little bit risque-but this is coming from a former adult review blogger, I just have been … [Read more...]
Holiday Gift Guide Review: East Coast Wings #review #ad #sponsored #eastcoastwings
A Little Bit About Me & Wings! If you have followed along for any length of time with my posts it isn't a big secret that my favorite types of food are the ones that lean more to a "savory" side instead of the "sugary" side. Also, my absolute favorite of all favorites are buffalo wings- and that is where that whole rumor about me a being a picky eater comes into play but FOR REAL. I am EXTREMELY picky when it comes to wings and I have about 3 places that I generally like their wings, and then that is IT. I don't even really try new places for wings because of this. I also generally stick to your general buffalo flavor so that might be why I am SO picky! So when I got a chance to review some Wings and some other yummy foods from East Coast Wings and Grill, I was pretty well beyond excited. I also knew that I would be able to share the food with David and my parents so it was kind of one of those reviews that wasn't "just for me" especially considering I would be getting 100 … [Read more...]
Holiday Gift Guide Review: Ninja Coffee Bar #sponsored #review #ad #ninja #ninjacoffeebar
David and I have had a single cup coffee brewing system since they practically hit the market. I think all together we had 3 different versions of them. I honestly have to say I probably didn't use it enough to constitute the money that we tied up with them not only the device, but the actual cups as well. We had one of those little make your own things but we didn't seem to ever use it that much either. I guess even after having 3 of them , I just wasn't all that impressed. I know my parents ended up with 2 of them and the last one I think we just set it out by the dumpster here at the apartments and i'm sure someone picked it up! So when I was putting together the Holiday Gift Guide and I got the offer from Ninja to review a Ninja Coffee Bar, I was like YES, please send it to me it looks awesome! Like I Said just above- it looks amazing! I love how sleek and pretty that it looks! I mean take a look! It fits right in with my kitchen - pretty much everything we have … [Read more...]
Holiday Gift Guide Review: NY Times Store Personalized Gifts #sponsored #ad #review
Well, It is almost time to wind down the Holiday Gift Guide believe it or not! I never thought I would finish or catch up, but if I stay on track it should be done in time for Christmas week! I actually wrote a lot faster than I thought I would- more at a time and had the writing bug more so no complaints there- I know some fellow bloggers with literally 50 reviews left to write and I am glad that is not me! This means I am getting down to those last few reviews-but there is nothing "last" about them because they are pretty awesome! Also, I do have a couple things to tie into new years with as well. I am hoping to get more things for that time frame, that way I don't have the winter blues set in, and then the site suffers and it is just a big black hole until springtime! One of the last things that I am bringing you as part of this years guide are some awesome goodies that I Just got last week that I knew would be awesome, unique and be an easy inclusion here in the last few … [Read more...]
